Tips for the week of the conference
Registration
- Be sure to register before fees increase in July!
- Know your responsibilities for payment if you are registered as of August 1. There are no refunds after July 31. You are counted in the totals as of that day, and we incur expenses on your behalf whether or not you attend. You will be responsible for payment in full if registered as of August 1.
- We will gladly make substitutions for you if you are unable to attend and another professional from your agency would like to attend in your place.
Local Travelers/Parking
- Take the DART train to avoid parking fees. The Pearl Street station is just 1/2 block away from the host hotel.

Travel
- Use our travel agent to receive discounts on your airfare.
- Use Super Shuttle from DFW Airport to reduce your expenses related to ground transportation; review information under the Hotels &Travel button to get information about travel agency and super shuttle discounts.
Hotels
- Please don't hold hotel rooms that you are not going to use; we make decisions on how many hotel rooms to commit to on a revolving basis, based on the number of rooms taken
- Please do reserve at a hotel where we have negotiated a room block to receive the most discounts available.
- Know your responsibilities for cancellation of hotel rooms
- Pay attention to your hotel check out date; the conference will end Thursday August 12 at 11:30 AM
- Know that we will provide continuous bus transporation service to the host hotel where we have secured rooms at offsite hotels (except for the Westin which is "walkable" via skybridge.).
Tips for the week of the conference
- It is HOT in Dallas and COLD in the hotel; dress in layers.
- Pick up your bag and Final Program on Sunday between 2-8 PM at the Sheraton to save time on the first morning!
- Our new host hotel is a BIG ONE -- familiarize yourself with the hotel on Sunday.
- We will provide a full list of lunch options in your Final Program onsite.
- You will want to become familiar with the location of the skybridge that attached the Sheraton to the Westin/Plaza of the Americas (where there is a food court). From the second floor of the Sheraton Conference Center, walk across the bridge to the Sheraton hotel. Turn left once entering the hotel, and walk past several banks of elevators. Keep going until you come to some glass doors. Go through those glass doors, across the bridge. Turn right when you get to a split in the bridge. Follow the bridge into the Plaza of the Americas. (This is less than a five minute walk.)
- Pace yourself. Hydrate. Stay cool.
- Take advantage of complimentary continental breakfast and evening social events where food is served.
- Learn as much as you can, enjoy yourself and network!
