A message from Richard B. Roper
United States Attorney
Northern District of TexasThe threat of sexual predators soliciting children for physical sexual contact is well-known and serious; the danger of the production, distribution, and possession of child pornography is equally dramatic and disturbing.
In 2006, the Department of Justice launched
Project Safe Childhood (PSC), an important initiative to combat the proliferation of technology-facilitated sexual exploitation crimes against children. Through a well-informed and well-trained network of federal, state and local law enforcement agencies and advocacy organizations, PSC coordinates efforts to protect our children by investigating and prosecuting online sexual predators. For more information regarding PSC and the impact community-based efforts have made, please visit the PSC website at
www.projectsafechildhood.gov.
Our response to these crimes must be comprehensive, coordinated, and robust and my office is proud to partner with Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center and the Dallas Police Department with the 20th Annual Crimes Against Children Conference.
